Steps to make Potato Balls:
  1. Peel and dice the potatoes. Wash and boil in water. When fork tender drain.
  2. Mash the potatoes adding salt until there is no lumps set aside and let cool.
  3. Heat oil and add the onion and bell pepper. Fry stirring often. Sauté till onions are translucent and soft.
  4. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. In the remaining oil add beef and brown. When it's done set aside with the onions and peppers. Chop the olives.
  6. In the pan on low heat, add the vinegar, olive and Tomato paste. Add the beef, onions and peppers. Season with the rest of the spices.
  7. Set aside and let cool.
  8. When the potatoes and filling is cooled form the potatoes into balls.
  9. Beat the eggs. Now place the flour in a bowl.
  10. Add breadcrumbs to a bowl.
  11. Make a crater in the center of potato ball.
  12. Add meat filling to the center.
  13. Close the ball back together.
  14. Roll the ball in the flour.
  15. Then the egg
  16. And final coating of breadcrumbs.
  17. Put into refrigerator to cool at least 2 hours
  18. Heat oil and deep fry about 3-4 minutes.
  19. If shallow frying roll the ball around in hot oil till every side is crispy about 1 minute per roll
  20. Move to a paper towel to absorb excessive oils.
